The digital powder brow method involves the application of thousands of tiny dots of pigment, inserted into the skin, gradually building up a colour and defined shape.
Digital powder brows use a more traditional tattooing method, with longer lasting results, and works with most skin types, including oily or combination skin. Clients come back for colour boosts closer to the 18-24 month mark. The brow is also fuller and more defined or dramatic than with the microblading method.
For clients who have zero natural brows, the powder or combi technique is the way to go. If someone doesn’t have a lot of hair, or if someone has no hair, I wouldn’t recommend microblading without some shading as there would be no depth to the brow.
Similarly, someone with thin, oily skin wouldn’t be a good candidate for traditional microblading because the oil would cause the lines to blur in a matter of months.
Powder brows also age and fade well, a concern lots of would-be microblade clients have. It’s diffused powder, so when it fades it just gets lighter, and lighter, and lighter. Powder ombre or combi brows won’t require a touch up quite as soon as you would for microblading.
On the day of your treatment a topical numbing cream can be applied to the brow area, this will allow for you to be comfortable during your treatment.
Once treatment is completed your brows may look slightly red and the brow will look stronger and darker than expected at first but any redness will fade within a couple of hours.
The shade of the brows will initially appear quite dark but will fade by around 50% as the brow heals.
During this time, you will need to apply a balm three times a day or when the eyebrows feel tight or itchy.
The brows should be kept dry for the first week – They can be cleansed with a wipe. They may feel sensitive or achy for the first few days but the sensation will fade after this time.
After the first treatment you will need a second 4-6 weeks later to review the result and fill in any gaps that need it. The brows will fade naturally over 18-24 months as the skin rejuvenates, at which time you will need a top-up treatment to retain the shape and colour.

Brow Techniques explained
Ombre brow is when the bulb of the brow is lighter and the tail darker.
Ombre literally means dark to light or graduation of colour. In semi permanent make-up it is when the colour of the brow is shaded and faded to make the bulb of the brow lighter and the tail darker.
Powder brow creates the illusion of a soft powdered brow.
When creating a powder brow we use a shading technique to create a full powdered look for you.
Combi brow is a combination of microblading and ombre brows.
Combination brows is a combination of manual microbladed hair strokes and ombre techniques to add shading and depth to the brow.
All methods are suitable for oily- normal skin types. The effect will be waterproof smudge proof and look completely natural.
Treatment is applied using a machine and therefore pigment is implanted slightly deeper into the skin.
