In the first two hours after the treatment you may experience:
- Swelling & Tenderness
For 2 to 5 days after treatment, the procedure area may experience the following symptoms:
- Flaking
- Tenderness
- Ridging through lips
- Tightness
- Dryness and itching
- Pigment fading and patchiness
For at least 7-10 days after a procedure or until the area appears to be healed, include the following in your daily routine:
- Apply aftercare balm to the area at least 3 times a day using a cotton bud. Wash hands before and after application and use a clean cotton bud each time to avoid infection. Apply sparingly to the area.
- Avoid getting the area wet. You can apply a thin layer of aftercare balm whilst showering or washing the face. If the area does get wet, pat dry very gently with a clean towel or tissue. Use straws to drink with and avoid spicy foods as this will irritate the treated area.
- Avoid wearing makeup in the treated area, until healed. You may apply make-up in the area once healed fully.
- Keep the area clean by gently cleansing with fragrance & sulphate free liquid soap morning and evening to prevent bacteria and infection, UNTIL HEALED, re apply aftercare balm after washing.
- Avoid using cleansing, toning solutions, creams; face wipes acne cleansers on the area until the flakiness has exfoliated itself.
- Do not scrub, rub or pick the lips within the flaking stage. Allow flakes to come away naturally. If they are removed before they are ready the pigment underneath it can be pulled out and make the treatment ineffective.
- Avoid swimming pools, saunas and steam for the first 7-10 days
- Avoid sun beds for the first seven – 10 days
- You will experience extremely dry & tight lips whilst they are healing, this is completely normal, you can use your aftercare balm alongside a fragrance free lipbalm if needed.
- Trust the process!!! Your beautiful blushed lips will be fully healed in 30 days….
